Rating Readiness
Full end-to-end transaction support for financial institutions issuing structured finance instruments
Why it matters
A rating is largely settled before the analyst opens the pool. Asset selection, the data templates, the way the originator’s processes are presented on site, and the reporting that has to keep flowing after closing are all one problem — and they are usually handled by different teams. We run them as a single engagement, on the agency’s methodology rather than yours.
How it runs
Prepare the poolCollateral pool preparation and asset selection under a rating agency methodology (e.g. Moody’s), optimised for the target rating.
Test the structureCredit enhancement sensitivity across scenarios, so you know which assumptions move the rating and by how much.
Fill the templatesRating-agency data template preparation, with every field traceable back to source.
Rehearse the meetingSupport in presenting the originator and servicer processes, and rehearsal of the on-site meeting itself.
Close and monitorOptimisation of the originator’s processes around the transaction, and set-up of the reporting systems that feed the rating agency and regulators after closing.
Asset Pool Data Quality Assessment
Pre-AUP data diagnostic and remediation for covered bond and ABS/RMBS issuers, ahead of auditor and rating-agency scrutiny
Why it matters
In a pool AUP an accounting firm re-reads your source documents — loan agreements, valuation reports, income evidence — and compares them with the loan-by-loan data your systems sent to the rating agency. Every break is priced: penalties in Moody’s MILAN model, conservative assumptions where a field was checked poorly or not at all, and for material errors no high rating at all. The auditor samples a few hundred loans. We check the whole pool, first.
How it runs
Scope the checkThe field list the agency’s model actually uses, and the source documents that evidence each one — loan agreement, valuation report, income evidence, purchase agreement, land register extract.
Digitalise the documentsAI-Driven text extraction turns every scanned source document into structured, queryable data — the whole document set, not a sample of it.
Reconcile against the systemEvery extracted field compared loan by loan with what your system holds and what populates the agency template — including the conversion into the reporting format, where errors also enter.
Close the gapsEvery break classified by field and root cause, and the material ones corrected in the source system before the auditor’s sample is drawn.
Collateral Pool Software Modernisation
Regulatory-grade requirements basis and make-or-buy support for banks replacing or upgrading legacy pool-management systems
Why it matters
Roughly thirty German banks still run collateral pool management on legacy platforms, and the replacement decision keeps being deferred because nobody has written down what the target system must actually do. This engagement produces that specification — vendor-neutral, tender-ready, and detailed enough to price.
How it runs
Map the rulesEvery regulatory and functional requirement the system must satisfy, cited to the paragraph of the applicable national law and the EU framework above it.
Document AS-ISCurrent architecture, interfaces, data inventory and manual workarounds — including what only lives in one person’s spreadsheet.
Specify TO-BEA target requirements specification structured for a tender: functional, regulatory, data, integration and audit requirements.
DecideA make-or-buy matrix scoring build, buy and hybrid against cost, time-to-value, regulatory risk and lock-in — with an implementation roadmap.
